ZATON, settlement and bay in north-west part of Šibenik gulf, 10 km NW from Šibenik; 1197 houses. It's placed in the chanel which connects Prokljan Lake with Šibenik bay. The bay of Zaton is surrounded by hills of Rastovac (133 m), Križeva glava (102 m) and Glavica (147 m). Economic base makes agriculture, fishery and tourism. It's on the regional road.

Distance from aeroports - by car / km: Split (82), Zadar (70) The best period to visit our coast is from April to October. Peak temperatures in high season summer months (July, August) can reach 38°C (100°F), and the water surface at that point reaches a comfortable 26°C (79°F).
